Capital P for Providence

I'll be honest.  I spent a good two weeks doing nothing but lunching with friends and non-stop movie watching on HBO.  It was glorious (but not blog worthy).  It is also the reason that people should be employed....because my lack of doing anything just led to more doing nothing.

Every summer I say..."I love doing nothing, but I hate having nothing to do."

So true.  Two weeks of solid vacay is nice and then I need a routine or a reason to get out of bed and even take a shower.

Instead of finding a routine, I traveled the country.  By country, I mean two states, but they were on either coast, so it was a country wide galavanting adventure.  Being unemployed and homeless has certainly had it's advantages in my case this summer.

I started in Rhode Island with my parents to visit Kimberly and Luke.  There's no better way to start a trip to a new city than right at the capitol building.

When we hit up Rhode Island, we spent a day exploring Providence.

Kimberly and Luke really do feel that they are conquering Rhode Island one day at a time.

We took our time wandering around because it was beautiful out- the perfect combination of sunshine and clouds for porcelain skin like mine.

Do you see my family?  Right there being small?

And when we were through overseeing the property, we stopped to look out over the capitol city.  Mostly we were contemplating where to eat lunch, because you should always have a meal plan on vacation.

We took in the downtown views as we wandered back through the city and found a local burger* joint for a patio lunch with a view of the Biltmore Hotel.

*You can take a girl out of the midwest, but you can't take the midwest out of the girl.

So happy to see my sister!  We spent the rest of the day eating and drinking our way through downtown.  More on that later.
