I believe this is where my deep, deep, love of donuts (doughnuts?) began. I have a total weakness for these tasty little rings. Cake for breakfast? Yes, please. Although if I had to list all sweets in order from favorite to least, donuts would be at the top and cake would be at the bottom. I can't explain these things, they're just the facts of life.
If you put a bunch of donuts in front of me, I would eat them all until they are gone. I don't care if there are a dozen donuts there, they are delicious and I have no will power. You can double the amount if they are Krispy Kreme (those are like sugar air, I swear). My previous coworkers can attest to this. I'm not even embarrassed. This is part of the reason I have a gym membership.
I have favorite donut shops everywhere back in the Midwest.
Des Moines? Mr. Donut
Omaha? Donut Professor
KC? LeMar's and someplace where it just says "Donuts" outside (not sketchy at all).
So naturally, if there is a well known donut place, I will hit it up. That's why I stood in a line that went entirely around the glittered brick walls of VooDoo Donuts when I was in Portland, Oregon a few years ago.
I've been there before when we walked to the one on Capital Hill downtown. So this is my second Top Pot visit. There's a reason everyone here talks about them! Mmmm.
In other news, it has been rainy! I understand why coffee is so big here...there is nothing better than coffee on a rainy morning.
Cheers!
