After a morning and early afternoon of whale watching, we still had the rest of the day ahead of us! I only have a limited time to show my visitors all around my city and STATE, so we didn't let any grass grow under our feet. We traveled about 15 miles south to Deception Pass State Park. I now have an annual state park pass. Who am I??
It was gorgeous! Perfect weather, plus the sun was just beginning it's long journey toward the horizon and it made for some wonderful scenery. We stopped to admire the bridge before driving over it to find a place to park and wander.
And of course we took a little journey over the windy bridge... only about half way before turning around to find a trail and get closer to the water. The bridge is just a tad scary because you're super close to the cars.
I just can't get over how gorgeous everything is as you're walking around! The views are so beautiful!
We are like the paparazzi with our picture taking.
Next, we drove around to another part of the park to find a beachier (less rocky) place to relax by the water. We found the perfect place to wander, sit, and enjoy the salt water.
The driftwood is one of my favorite parts about visiting Washington beaches. I could have spent hours wandering the beach and sitting in the sand.
Just to show the peacefulness, here's a nice video of the water (don't mind my friend wandering around- this is authentic video of what we did- haha!).
Deception Pass... I will be back! Maybe to do some hiking, or just enjoy the beach.

No video...gorgeous pics!
